Anaphylactic shock is what happens when someone has an extreme allergic reaction. It’s most common for people who are allergic to bee stings, or some food allergies. There can even be an anaphylactic reaction to mosquito bites. It’s important that it’s treated right away, because it can be deadly. Anaphylactic Shock Treatment While prevention is usually the best medicine, sometimes allergic reactions are unavoidable. If you are susceptible to anaphylactic shock, you should be carrying around medication. It’s possible that it could save your life. Sometimes this medication comes in pill form, however many times you may need to take shots. This is because allergy shots go directly into your blood stream and time is extremely important. This injection of epinephrine will help to open up airways, which will provide relief. It’s important to note that these shots do have a shelf life, so make sure you check the package every now and then. If it’s not good, you need to replace it ASAP. Because you never know when you many need it. If no treatment is available, you need to see a doctor right away. Since paramedics will have the medication you need, calling an ambulance would also be a good idea. It can be scary to watch someone suffer from anaphylactic shock. However if you stay calm and have the right medication, it doesn’t need to be life threatening. Remember; don’t wait for the symptoms of anaphylactic shock to occur. If someone you’re with has been affected by something you know they have a severe allergy to, take action. Don’t wait till it’s too late. |
