Batman the Dark Knight Batman also referred to as the Dark Knight is a Comic Book Character published by DC Comics. The comic Book Super Hero was co-created by Bill Finger and artist Bob Kane. The Batman Character first appeared in 1939 in a publishing of Detective Comics #27. That Comic book is one of the HOLY GRAILS of Comic Book Collectors. Batman like most super-heroes has a secret identity. He uses the name Bruce Wayne, which is an intelligent rich industrialist who gained much of his wealth from his parents inheritance after they were brutally murdered. Batman resides in fictional Gotham City and lives in a mansion with his butler Alfred Pennyworth. He also has a sidekick which appears in many of the comics named Robin. Batman is one of the only super-heroes that has ever been created that does not posses any super powers. He uses is intellect and intelligence as well as gadgets and vehicles in his endless war against fighting crime.Batman has been around for over 70 years and has been one of the most highly collected super-heroes known to date. His collectibles and comics are one of the highest grossing of all protagonists that DC has ever created. Batman has appeared on television in the 1960's series starred by Adam West. He has than appeared in various movies to date including one to be released in 2008. Batman products have been licensed throughout the world and his iconic symbol is one of the most recognized symbol ever created. Batman has been continually reinvented over the years. Each individual who has produced something to the Batman franchise has added or changed something to give Batman a different style or presence. Some of changed his disguise from Cartoonish too extremely dark. His portrayal in many of the movies has also changed through the years. He has been portrayed as the friendly, and happy superhero to to his portrayal as a dark knight who has no problem and no remorse slaying his victims war against crime. As Batman has evolved so has his gadgets from his utility belt carrying forms of mace to underwater snorkeling device which helps him breathe. His vehicle, the Bat mobile, has also taken on an evolution of design. The Car has been presented as a Corvette on steroids too on off road tumbler which resembles a Hummer. As generations pass Batman will continue to evolve which will keep collectors busy and profiting from his collectibles.
